Honoring LGBTQ Veterans: Transcendent stories of heroism as told in the documentary "Breaking the Silence"

Come join us for a special viewing of the documentary "Breaking the Silence," jointly hosted by the Oregon Gerontological Association, Portland Community College, and the Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs (ODVA). LGBTQ adults serve in the armed services at a higher rate than their heterosexual counterparts, but their voices are rarely heard. Documentarian Paul Iarrobino teamed with ODVA to give voices to this often invisible group of veterans.

After the screening, there will be a discussion led by Nathaniel Boehme, LGBTQ Veterans Coordinator at ODVA.

Getting there: Please refer to PCC's Transportation and Parking page.

Registration Fee:

  • OGA members: $10
  • Non-members: $20
  • Veterans and registrants with limited financial means: $5
