Oregon Legislative Session 2023: Updates with Focus on Workplace Age Discrimination (HB 2800) and How You Can Engage as an Advocate

Please join us for a presentation by Andrea Meyer, AARP Oregon Director of Government Relations, and moderated by OGA Board Member Jerry Cohen, focusing on House Bill 2800 relating to age-based employment discrimination. Andrea will also discuss other key bills impacting seniors and how you can engage as an advocate.

Presenter

Andrea Meyer is Director of Government Relations for AARP Oregon.  She works to advance AARP’s state legislative agenda and oversee the caregiving portfolio, in addition to working closely with volunteers.  Prior to joining AARP, Andrea was the Legislative Director with the ACLU of Oregon and then served as Director of Legislative Programs with National ACLU.  Andrea grew up in Oregon and after college returned to Portland where she obtained her J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School.

This webinar is appropriate for a general audience including professionals, students, older community members, and all advocates interested in legislation that impacts older adults in the state of Oregon.
