How Livable is Your Community?
Using the AARP Livability Index

How livable is your community? Join the Oregon Gerontological Association and AARP Oregon and learn how to use the updated AARP Livability Index to learn how your neighborhood ranks.

Hear about the recent relaunch and the changes and updates made this powerful tool from Rodney Harrell, Vice President at the AARP Public Policy Institute and a key architect of the AARP Livability Index. Also, hear from a panel of local subject matter experts on planning, aging, and real estate who will discuss how the livability index can help make Oregon communities more livable.

AARP Livability Index scores neighborhoods and communities across the U.S. for the services and amenities that impact you the most.  Recently relaunched with significant improvements made since its original debut in 2015, the Index draws from more than 50 different sources of data to measure the key aspects of livability in seven categories and also provides policies measure on how communities might become more livable over time based on actions taken now.
