"Together" Community Book Read: Virtual Discussion

Please join OGA for a facilitated discussion of the book "Together" by Vivek H. Murthy, MD, as part of the Great Oregon Book Read. We hope this book reading and discussion inspires our communities across Oregon to talk about the epidemic of loneliness. Together we will explore the potential of social connections to positively impact many health and social issues. Please know that reading the book is not required to participate in the discussion. Free for everyone.

Intended audience: This presentation is intended for general interest. It may best serve those who have read the book "Together" by Vivek H. Murthy, MD, but the book reading is not required to participate in the discussion.

Facilitator:

Britta Willson, MA, is a gerontologist and sex educator who has worked with systems and services that support aging adults for over 20 years. She received her BA in Human Studies from Marylhurst University and MA in Gerontology from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC. She has been a lead for the Dementia-Friendly and Age-Friendly Initiatives in the Columbia River Gorge region and serves on the Aging in the Gorge Alliance, which launched the initial "Together" Community Book Read and Discussions.
